Solar Panel Removal & Reinstallation

At some point, most solar homeowners need their panels temporarily removed — for reroofing, loft conversions, roof repairs, or system upgrades. This work requires a qualified PV electrician who can safely disconnect the system, remove panels without damaging them or your roof, store them during the work, and reinstall and recommission everything afterwards.

Panel removal and reinstallation typically costs £100–£250 per panel, depending on system size, roof access, and whether scaffolding is needed. The work also includes DNO notification and re-testing the system to ensure it's generating correctly after reinstallation. Using an unqualified tradesperson risks voiding your panel and inverter warranties.
